2013 Camaro Set For Nationwide Series

If you're as big of Chevrolet fans as we are and if you're a race fan you'll be happy to hear that the Camaro is ready to make its Nationwide Series Debut!

Yahoo Sports detailed the following in an article:

Here's a pleasant surprise: Chevrolet will roll out the Camaro for competition in the Nationwide Series, starting in 2013. It makes sense; not only is the Camaro the top-selling sports car in America (per Chevy), it's also a strong competitor to the Ford Mustang in the Nationwide Series.

And now, some corporatespeak: "Chevrolet is proud to bring the Camaro to the NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2013," said Jim Campbell, vice president, Chevrolet Performance Vehicles and Motorsports. "The Camaro Nationwide race car incorporates many of the distinctive styling elements of the production Camaro, including the unique power-bulge hood and deep recessed grille. In addition, the design incorporates the distinctive halo light rings and dual-port grille appearances, and the gold bowtie."

Ask Art: Vehicle Cooling

"Ask Art" -- Q & A with Art Harding, Service Director at Morrow Ford/Morrow Chevrolet Kia.  Art is available to answer your vehicle service/care questions...Feel free to post yours!

Q:  What's the fastest way to cool down my vehicle on a hot day?

Art's A:  "A good air conditioning tip is to crack your window open when you first get in your car and then turn on your a/ c on the "recirculation" setting. This will push out the hot air and cool the cabin faster. Also, don't run the blower on the highest setting, drop it back one. That way the air doesn't blow over the evaporator coil as fast and the air gets cooler. -Hope this helps...Art".

Ask Art!

"Ask Art" -- Q & A with Art Harding, Service Director at Morrow Ford/Morrow Chevrolet Kia.  Art is available to answer your vehicle service/care questions...Feel free to post yours!

Q:  How does engine coolant work, and how can I keep my engine from overheating on these extremely hot days?

Art's A:  If your temperature gauge goes into the red zone, shut your engine off immediately! Although today's engines are designed to run over 200 degrees, they can not withstand overheating due to the high aluminum content. It is equally critical to use only the factory recommended coolant. Unlike the old days, there are multiple types out there and using the wrong type, or using a " universal" coolant can also cause major damage. Another thing is to mix the coolant according to the instructions. Using straight coolant out of the bootle can actually *cause* an engine to overheat. Most manufacturers now sell coolant "premixed". A properly serviced cooling system proves the old adage " an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure". -Hope this helps...Art.
